CARRIE Symonds today beamed as she showed off her bump and engagement ring in her first appearance since revealing she was pregnant.
The 31-year-old glowed as she spoke with guests at No 10's International Women's Day event by the side of fiancé PM Boris Johnson.
The PR executive was seen wearing her new engagement ring at the event at Downing Street, which appeared to be a coloured jewel surrounded by a ring of diamonds, for the first time since it was revealed the couple were engaged and expecting a baby.
The Sun understands Carrie is six months pregnant with the baby due in late May or early June.
And she looked in good spirits as she chatted with other women during the event earlier this week, wearing a flowing patterned Anthropologie maxi dress.
The news means that the Prime Minister is to become a dad for the sixth time – and will be the first PM in nearly 200 years to marry while in office.
The couple, who have been together for around two years, got engaged at the end of last year but kept it secret from all but their closest pals until now.
And thrilled Carrie — already the first unmarried partner of a sitting PM — revealed the happy news with an Instagram picture of Boris kissing her on the cheek.
She wrote: “I wouldn’t normally post this kind of thing on here but I wanted my friends to find out from me. Many of you already know but for my friends that still don’t, we got engaged at the end of last year . . . and we’ve got a baby hatching early summer.
"Feel incredibly blessed."
The shock announcement came just 11 days after Boris, 55, reached a settlement with his estranged wife Marina Wheeler, with whom he has four children, aged 20 to 26.
And Mr Johnson is expected to take paternity leave when the new bundle of joy arrives.
He also reluctantly promised to get stuck in with changing nappies as he was grilled over the baby news.
The PM was congratulated over the news on This Morning by hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield – but squirmed when he was asked about how his family had reacted.
He replied: "I've spent an awfully long time deliberately not going on about it, for the very good reason that there are people that I love that I don't want to put in the debate and that's the reason."
But the PM insisted he would be helping out with the chores of becoming a new dad later this year.
Mr Johnson admitted he was "very excited” at the news and asked whether he would be changing nappies, the PM added: "I expect so."
Carrie was scarcely seen at his side on the General Election campaign trail late last year — though she was pictured waving with him outside No10 following the Tories’ thumping win.
The couple chose to live at the larger four-bedroom flat at No11 Downing Street instead of the two-bedroom official residence at No10.
They share Jack Russell-cross rescue pup Dilyn.
