The Masked Dancer clues: All the signs and hints to the celebrity characters from Mark Wright to Maisie Smith

THE Masked Dancer kicked off on Saturday night and it immediately proved to be as addictive and frustrating as the original, The Masked Singer.

And with only six of the 12 celebrities revealed so far, viewers are now hooked on guessing who they all are.

So far, the panel decided to unmask Flamingo, who turned out to be Louise Redknapp, Viper, who was Jordan Banjo, and Beetroot star Dita Von Teese.

They've also unmasked Rubber Chicken, who was Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, Beagle, who turned out to be Christopher Dean, and Llama star Zoe Ball.

But who are Scarecrow, Knickerbocker Glory, Squirrel and Zip? We check out all the latest clues from The Masked Dancer.

Former Towie star Mark Wright is firmly in the frame as the Zip after fans spotted references to America, the jungle and DJ'ing.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star presents a breakfast show on Heart radio, used to live in Los Angeles and took part in ITV show I'm A Celebrity.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their theories about radio host Mark, 34, linking him to pink-haired character The Zip.

"I think The Zip is Mark Wright," one wrote, as another concluded after the episode: "The Zip is Mark Wright?"

However, others think it could also be JLS singer Marvin Humes, 36, who is now a DJ.

The Masked Dancer panel highly suspect Knickerbocker is actually a man, possibly a drag queen, after seeing their performance and listening to the clues.

They included: "Pay attention to the details if you want the scoop," she teased. "I'm like a knickerbocker glory, I have a lot of layers.

"I want to squeeze a bit of zest into the competition."

The fact knickerbocker also mentioned "maxi challenges" made many viewers think it was someone from RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

One tweeted: "#MaskedDancer Knickerbocker said maxi challenge and was lipsyncing definitely a drag queen! Accent sounded fake. I thought Baga Chips or the Vivienne!"

Another added: "So confident that Knickerbockerglory is Baga Chipz. I know I'm right. 100%! When I'm proved wrong I will delete this tweet."

However, others thought it could be Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood, who was a regular in theatres, where he often performed as a female.

Yet, fans were quick to pick up on a clue in Knickerbocker Glory's debut, where they said: "As a young scoop I won a ____ contest with my jelly ____."

And this could refer back Craig's youth when he won Sunbeam Junior Chef of the Year with a Jellied Prawn Cocktail.

One even found the page in Craig's autobiography showing him posing with the dish and joking he was "in training for Celebrity Masterchef."

If Craig turns out to be the person behind the character, it would certainly be a surprise for new panelist, Strictly pro Oti Mabuse.

Scarecrow has continuously impressed the panel and viewers at home, but has left many scratching their heads about their true identity.

But after last night's emotional performance to Ed Sheeran's Perfect, fans believe they have cracked the clues and Scarecrow is in fact YouTuber Joe Sugg.

Throughout the series, Scarecrow's clues have been quite ambiguous, including references to recycling, housekeeping, posing and a magic wand.

However, some believe their signature tune Cotton Eye Joe, which plays in the background, is the biggest clue of all.

Taking to Twitter to help them out, one fan wrote: "The scarecrow is obviously joe sugg it can’t be more obvious!!

"Was once a thatcher, plays Sam in the syndicate who is a villain, the opening song ‘Cotten eyed JOE’, grown up in Wiltshire (the country side), and he has a past of dancing from strictly #TheMaskedDancer #Joesugg."

Another said: "SCARECROW IS DEFFO JOE SUGG #TheMaskedDancer #MaskedDancer #MaskedDancerUK."

While many are convinced it's Joe, others believed Scarecrow could be in fact Olympian Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Scarecrow discussed fitness and was seen standing next to the Olympic Rings during their VT on Monday's installment.

They later said: "I don't stop jumping hurdles. I've won awards for being outstanding in my field."

But Scarecrow was then seen reading a newspaper and commenting: "Breaking news – us Scarecrows do have brains. I love to read and write, you know. I worked at The Times in my heyday."

One fan shared on Twitter: "#TheMaskedDanceruk I think Scarecrow is Jessica Ennis-Hill."

Another person wrote: "#MaskedDancerUK think #scarecrow is Jessica Ennis Hill @MaskedSingerUK."

This adorable rodent described herself as someone who has "street cred and curve appeal."

Another clue about impersonating led the panel to wonder if Squirrel was an impersonator.

Both Oti and Mo thought Emily Atack could be Squirrel due to the famous family reference and impressionist clue.

During Squirrel's fun dance to Taylor Swift's Shake it off, Mo said he believed Squirrel is someone who was in a girl group.

However, Squirrel's true identity has divided viewers with some believing it's EastEnders star Maisie Smith behind the furry mask.

Earlier this week, the teen actress shared a stunning photo of herself in a tiger-print dress.

The mirror selfie shows Maisie looking glam as she pouts for a photo, with a tiny, skin-coloured headset mic visible beneath her long, ginger hair.

Commenting on the photo, one follower was convinced she'd given the game away as they wrote: "That's the same mic as what the Flamingo had in The Masked Dancer, WOW."

Another wrote: "You can even see her mic, it’s the same all the others that have been de-masked have had".

In addition to the suspicious microphone, viewers picked up on references to both EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing while watching the ITV show.

However, former X Factor star Cher Lloyd and rapper Lady Leshur have also been linked to the furry critter.

Cash Wash cut some impressive shapes to Christina Aguilera's Car Wash.

Davina praised Cash Wash's costume-ography as they put on a good show.

She suggested Car Wash is a popstar, possibly one from Busted whereas Oti thought it may be a member from Take That.

However, fans believe they have "figured out" Carwash is Take That's Jason Orange after deciphering fruity clues.

During two lies and a truth, Carwash said: "I get all my energy from Vitamin C."

Fans suggested it could be Take That star Jason Orange, due to the connection to his last name.

One person said: "Carwash…"I get all my energy from vitamin C….I'm quite shy" could be Jason Orange…"

A third remarked: "The song Carwash danced to in #MaskedDancer was performed in concert by Take That once. The vitamin C clue could be for Jason Orange but I can't see him doing the show."

Frog informed viewers they are "a great explorer" who "loves to travel."

They also hinted to being in the entertainment industry with clues about a Hollywood contract and making entertainment at school.

The panel were surprised by Frog's routine and Michael Jackson inspired moves.

Fans believe that TV presenter Emma Willis might be behind the mask. Willis has presented Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother, as well as the spin-off series Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.

One of the clues was the diary room, which reminded the judges of Big Brother.

Other fans have speculated it might be Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington behind the mask.

There are a lot of references to ponds and swimming during the Frog’s segment and Olympians wear the colours red and blue.

The Masked Dancer continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
