The Chase viewers baffled by contestants unusual job as chicken nutritionist

The Chase viewers were left scratching their heads on Tuesday afternoon as they were introduced to the latest batch of contestants.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed David, Alex, Lisa and Jack to the ITV studio to film the episode which originally aired in 2017.

The cheeky presenter was eager to see them get through to the final with some money in-hand.

Anne Hegerty aka The Govrrness was in the hot seat trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.

Viewers were quickly distracted from the quiz show from the beginning when contestant number two Alex revealed she was a chicken nutritionist.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Me trying to think if a chicken nutritionist is someone who knows about what nutrients a chicken needs or what nutrients a chicken has that benefits humans, other animals etc."

Another added: "Can one of the questions be what is a chicken nutritionist asking for a friend."

A third person posted: "Chicken nutritionist. Posh title for paxo?"

While a fourth social media user said: "We've got a chicken nutritionist here?"

"A chicken nutritionist?," another baffled viewer asked.

Alex from Wiltshire told host Brad that she works her unusual occupation before she tried her against The Governess and unsurprisingly he was speechless.

The TV presenter stood with his jaw-dropped at the unusual profession, while the 29-year-old player continued: "It always gets that look."

When Bradley had finally recovered from his shock, he asked: "What they come and visit you in your clinic?"

Alex explained: "What it involves is creating products to help chicken digest their feed more efficiently to create more money."

Now growing more interested in Alex's career, the 57-year-old asked: "What nutrition do you put them on?"

"Probiotics, friendly bacteria for chicken," continued Alex.

It wasn't just Alex who sported an unusual job as contestant number four Jack revealed he is a boxing MC.

All four contestants managed to make it through to the final chase with a whooping £25,000 up for grabs.

However, it wasn't meant to be and the team were caught by The Governess with just one second remaining on the clock.
