The cast of Stranger Things season 4 have flown out to New Mexico in a shake-up for the new episodes.
Fans are already aware that scenes will be set in Russia in the new episodes as Chief Jim Hopper ( David Harbour ) was revealed to be alive but a prisoner in the first teaser trailer for the fourth run.
However, Russia isn't the only location away from the show's typical setting of the town of Hawkins.
Speaking to Deadline , Netflix VPs Physical Production Patty Whitcher and Momita SenGupta discussed how the next run is "bigger, bolder and more intricate than ever".
While the earlier series were filmed entirely in Atlanta, Georgia, the new run is filming in New Mexico too for further scenes outside Hawkins.
"So this is the first time the show will be traveling beyond Atlanta," said SenGupta.
The streaming service's new facilities in New Mexico were chosen for filming as they "lent themselves to the story".
Fans will be aware that the third run ended with Eleven ( Millie Bobby Brown ) moving away from Hawkins with Joyce Byers ( Winona Ryder ) and her family for a fresh start following Hopper's apparent death.
Could New Mexico be the new home of the Byers family?
The VPs refused to say what storylines from the new season will be filming in New Mexico.
And, if so, will they return to Hawkins and be reunited with our other favourite characters?
Meanwhile, star Millie Bobby Brown has recently spoken about being sexualised from a young age since the Netflix hit show catapulted her to stardom.
She said on social media: "There are moments I get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualisation, and unnecessary insults that ultimately have resulted in pain and insecurity for me."
Stranger Things season 4 is released on Netflix later this year.
