Stacey Solomon reveals the romantic moment Joe Swash proposed to her and the story behind her engagement ring

STACEY Solomon has revealed the romantic moment Joe Swash proposed to her on a woodland walk with her sons.

The Loose Women star and her fiancé can be seen crouching down in front of beautiful flowers in the black and white clip as he presents her with her diamond ring.

Once standing, they celebrate with a kiss as a grinning Stacey tears up.

She wrote: "The boys cheering gets me every time I watch this back. Omg it hurts my heart."

Stacey also shared the meaning behind her impressive sparkler, which includes two Australian opals.

She explained: "Opal is my birthstone and Australia is where we fell in love. It gives me goosebumps everytime I look at them."

Having dreamt of this moment for years, Stacey wasted no time making a start on her wedding plan, revealing her inspiration book.

She returned to Instagram today after enjoying a break from social media following the engagement.

Reflecting on a memorable week, she shared a montage of clips of her festive break with her fiancé and kids.

Stacey first captured her son Rex, who she welcomed with Joe, opening one of his Christmas gifts – a Peppa Pig book.

She then shared a video of Joe, 38, building a car garage toy on Christmas morning while clad in his festive PJs while Rex looked on.

In another adorable moment her followers saw her cuddling her son Zachary while sitting beside their Christmas tree.

Another clip saw Stacey cosying up to Joe beside the fire before the montage finished with a shot of her engagement ring.

She captioned the stories: "OMG I've missed you all SO much…

"But I have been in an engagement/Christmas bubble. All I've done is play with my babies and car… We've been so lazy. We haven't left the house.

"I hope your Christmas was a good as it could be. It was such a strange one wasn't it. But it's a new year tomorrow," she continued.

"Hopefully with new hope and better days. Love you all. Missed you all too much."
