Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) never expected to discover the horrific truth about her own mum Katy (Simone Lahbib) when she told Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders that she is his daughter – but the revelation that Mick was just 12 during their ‘relationship’ has knocked her for sick.
With Katy now arriving in Walford, Mick is stunned to come face to face with her and memories from his tormented and exploited childhood come rushing back – and he demands to know the truth from Katy about why she kept the truth about Frankie from him.
Later, they are talking the situation through when Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) interrupts, excited to see Katy and to reminisce about the old days. But just then, Katy gets a message from Frankie demanding to meet up.
Katy is nervous and wants Mick to attend with her but as they prepare to come up against Frankie, Mick’s head is all over the place. Does he feel a kind of misplaced loyalty to Katy and will she manipulate the situation to make out that not everything was as it seems?
Frankie may not buy into this act – but as she confronts her mum, will she expose the truth to the rest of the Carters and even hand Katy over to the law?
The trio meet up and tensions rise but as conflicting stories and revelations come to light, Mick is pushed closer to the brink while Frankie is left with some decisions to make.
Can she get Mick to see that he was the victim of abuse? Or does Katy still have a hold on him that will allow her to evade justice for her crimes?
