Spoilers: Dotty hears Dennis' dying words to Ian in EastEnders

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is left with some deeply concerning woes in EastEnders tonight as Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) discovers further evidence of Dennis Rickman’s (Bleu Landau) final moments before depth – a voicemail he left for Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) which also proves he was begging Ian to let him out.

Ian has so far claimed to Sharon that the only altercation he had with her teenage son was over his underage drinking but viewers know that he locked him in below deck ahead of the crash, which led to the youngster dying.

Ian has been hailed a hero for trying to rescue Dennis but has been consumed with guilt as he knows that Dennis would never have died if he hadn’t locked him in in the first place.

Tonight, knowing that Dotty knows the score, Peter (Dayle Hudson) warns her to stay away and Ian issues another plea for her to keep her mouth shut.

Later, Dotty listens to messages on the garage’s business phone about potential jobs, wanting the clients as Shirley has told her that she’s closing The Arches.

However, Dotty also stumbles across a voicemail message in which Dennis can be heard pleading for Ian to let him out of the boat.

She confronts Ian with the information she has found out and he pales in terror – can he keep her from sharing this with Sharon?

Or is his longest standing friendship set to be destroyed as his horrific betrayals come to light?

EastEnders continues on Thursday 5 March at 7:30pm on BBC One.
