Former supermodel Penny Lancaster gave a detailed demonstration on how she gave birth to her son live on Loose Women.

Penny, 50, stunned her fellow Loose Women colleagues as she lifted up her dress and squatted on the floor to give a detailed analysis of her birth to her child took place.

While discussing whether women should be allowed to be given gas and air, the star also mentioned that she managed to pull her son out of her when she received a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide gas.

But this wasn't the only thing that shocked the panellist, as Penny also admitted that husband Rod Stewart sang to her as she gave birth.

She said: "I think there were a few songs, yeah."

Penny then explained that as women get to a certain point in their pregnancy, their hips become more supple to make it easier for the baby to come out.

She said her nurse suggested that she tried squatting to encourage her son during the birth, asking the women: "Shall I demonstrate it to you?"

Penny then squatted on the set floor to the music of Liberty X's Sexy as she said her son came out onto the hospital lino floor while her fellow panellists looked at her in shock.

Meanwhile, Rod recently revealed that he sends a driver to go and pick Penny up when she finished her shift as a police officer in London.

He said to The Sun: "I don't sleep unless I get a call to know she's safe.

"I send a driver for her every night — her area can be rough."

Rod said he has even taken it upon himself to drive around London to look out for Penny, saying: " took my Rolls-Royce through London Bridge the other night."

Penny has been working with the City of London as a Special Constable since getting her badge in April this year.
