'Law & Order: SVU': Peter Scanavino on Whether Carisi Is Jealous of Rollins' Ex

Law & Order: SVU brings Amanda Rollins’ ex back in an upcoming episode. Peter Scanavino, who plays Dominick Carisi, recently revealed how his character feels about Rollins’ ex and his return.

Rollins and Carisi are dating on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Carisi have been close friends for years. Ever since the two met in season 16 of Law & Order: SVU, they’ve shared a deep connection and chemistry. In the last few seasons, the two have grown even closer. Carisi babysat for Rollins’ kids, and he’s been a great support as she dealt with family issues.

And in the season 22 finale, Rollins’ and Carisi’s relationship finally came to a head. The two finally gave in to their feelings and kissed. And in the current season, the two are dating and seem very comfortable and happy with their dynamic.

‘Law & Order: SVU’ star Peter Scanavino reveals how Carisi feels about Rollins’ ex

Declan Murphy (Donal Logue) is the father of Rollins’ oldest daughter. He’s an NYPD detective who spent a lot of time working undercover. In season 23, Murphy found out Rollins was pregnant and left an undercover post to see her and ask if she needed anything.

The two haven’t been together since. But Murphy is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU. And with his return, Scanavino revealed that Carisi wouldn’t be anywhere near him in the episode.

“We don’t have any interaction, actually,” the actor told TV Line. “I’m not in that episode.”

Scanavino said he wonders how Carisi feels about Rollins’ exes. But knowing how secure and respectful the ADA is, he doesn’t think Carisi would be angry or jealous.

“[Rollins and Carisi are] obviously pretty close, and I’m close to the kids in the fictional backstory of what I’ve come up with, ” Scanavino suggested. “So, I’m sure he totally knows who the father is, and that’s something that they’ve probably spoken about. I don’t see how it would be anything contentious or dramatic, but who knows?”

While he doesn’t think it would be characteristic of Carisi to confront Murphy, Scanavino admits anything can happen. “It’s the name of the game with this show,” he said. “So, it could be. I don’t know.”

Peter Scanavino is excited about Sam Waterston’s return to the franchise

Carisi is an Assistant District Attorney on the rise. And with the new Law & Order reboot happening, many fans may be wondering if he’ll appear on the show.

In his chat with TV Line, Scanavino revealed that there are currently no plans to bring him to the reboot. But he said, with Sam Waterston returning, he’s still excited to be connected to the show.

“Well, I’ve had no interaction with the original Law & Order, but if that were to open up, I’m definitely game for it,” Scanavino explained. “I think it’s really interesting, the crossover possibilities and all that.”

“I would obviously love to meet Sam Waterston, just as a personal thing,” he added. “You know, I used to watch the original Law & Order with my mother when I was a kid, and now I’m part of that world. That’d be nice to be full circle, I suppose.”

New episodes of Law & Order: SVU air Thursdays on NBC.
