'I took sleeping pills for ‘overthinking’ but I'd always feel groggy and couldn't get going the next day,’ says Cheryl

POP singer Cheryl has revealed she turned to sleeping pills in the past when she struggled with “overthinking and undersleeping.”

But the 38-year-old admitted feeling “groggy” the next day when using them as she opened up about her issues with sleep – saying she now uses a natural sleep aid instead.

Chatting to her 3.5 million followers on Instagram, as she plugged vitamin supplement brand WeAreFeel, Cheryl said: “If you're anything like me and have trouble with overthinking and undersleeping then you should try the Sleep Feel vitamin…

“I used to call the doctor for when I couldn't sleep for sleeping pills but I'd always feel groggy and couldn't get going the next day.”

She added: “But with this you feel amazing in the morning and it's really helpful, natural sleep. So I'd love to hear your stories. I've heard many, many good reviews so get trying.”

Cheryl has been open in the past about how she deals with stressful situations – and the impact they can have on her health.

In 2015 she blamed the "stress" of being married to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini for causing her drastic weight loss.

Following the birth of son Bear in 2017, who she shares with Liam Payne, Cheryl revealed she had started therapy because she was terrified of her anxiety returning.

Discussing the CBT she did, Cheryl said: "I've been going to her for a year now for cognitive therapy, and I'm actively undoing all the bad thought patterns and traps I used to fall into.

“I would talk to myself so nastily: 'You silly cow. You stupid b***h.' No one could make me feel worse about myself than I did, and that was a massive problem.”

Cheryl made a return to the limelight earlier this year as she teamed up with the multivitamin brand.

She has appeared in a number of adverts for them and has said they are the secret to her healthy look.
