First Dates host Fred Sirieix will appear on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Day special, and has now opened up about what it was like to train for the show – detailing how he was 'bleeding and vomiting everywhere'.
The 49 Frenchman sat down with Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond on Friday (December 17), when he spoke about filming the Christmas special of the popular BBC One dancing competition.
He detailed how he wore a turkey costume while training, even though he was 'bleeding and vomiting everywhere.'
Chatting on the ITV morning show on Friday, Fred explained: "I got a call about four weeks ago asking if I wanted to take part in the Christmas special and I got scared because I can't dance.
"The other thing is about confidence, I'm a confident guy though. That's why I did it," he said.
He then spoke about how intense the training for the festive show was, saying: "Firstly we trained for more than four hours, my feet were bleeding I went home and I was vomiting everywhere!"
Dermot and Alison were in shock as Fred continued to detail the demanding training he endured.
"My body couldn't take it, I lost three kilos in total, but now I'm back to my fighting weight," he said.
Alison asked the First Dates host: "Was it the fact that you were a turkey though and you were sweating inside?"
To which he replied: "No, I was was sweating before. I was sweating like I was representing France in the Olympics and I finally got my opportunity!"
For the Christmas Day special, Fred will be dancing with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, while joined by another five couples.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news of her Christmas dance partner, Dianne penned a sweet caption that read: "Ladies and gentlemen I present to you My Christmas special partner !!!! @fred_sirieix what a legend we can’t wait to perform for you all on Christmas Day."
Other celeb guests will include chart-topper Anne-Marie, presenter Jay Blades, Bake Off's Mel Giedroyc, newsreader Moira Stewart and the One Show's Adrian Chiles.
