Emmerdale viewers fear April Windsor is at risk in the Yorkshire Dales, after witnessing her friendship with Cathy beginning to blossom.
Marlon Dingle's daughter seems much younger than Brenda's granddaughter Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), with the pair spending more and more time together.
On Monday, Cathy appeared to discuss the birds and the bees with April (Amelia Flanagan), before showing her something private on her phone.
She then ordered the 11-year-old to keep her secret – sending a chill down viewers' spines.
This evening saw Cathy reveal she is convinced Ellis Chapman – who is in his 20s – had a crush on her, as she tried to flirt with him in the cafe.
"You’re too young to know the signs. He’s definitely into me," she told a doubtful April.
Watching from home, viewers took to Twitter to speculate over the storyline, fearing it wouldn't end well for young April.
One fan wrote: "What's Cathy… 14? April is 11. Cathy's going be a bad influence on April. Can see it a mile off. This will end bad!"
"What did Cathy send April yesterday? Did they show us? Or was it something very inappropriate?," added a second.
And a third chimed: "I bet April will tell Marlon what Cathy is up to, and then she'll get bullied."
"Cathy is a bad influence on April," agreed a fourth.
Marlon (Mark Charnock) might intervene before Cathy's influence takes hold, as the Yorkshire chef previously pointed out the age difference between the pair.
When Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) told him how April and Cathy are “bessie mates now," Marlon made it clear he wasn't impressed.
He replied: “Bit old for her isn’t she?”
“Well, little April’s not so little anymore,” Rhona replied.
Does Cathy have an agenda, or is she simply becoming a good friend for young April?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
