Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) marriage to Mick (Danny Dyer) has hit the rocks in tense EastEnders scenes as the revelation that she had slept with Max Branning (Jake Wood) came as no surprise to him – and he failed to even get angry or upset with Linda for her betrayal.
Anxious to break up another marriage (it’s been so long, after all), impatient Max rocked up at the flat and waited for Mick to arrive home.
The bold womaniser didn’t just access another man’s house but went straight in with the revelation that he was sleeping with his wife – but Mick barely reacted and told him that he already knows.
Linda came in and promptly kicked Max out of the flat before rounding on Mick and asking what had happened to them.
Mick merely said that if Max makes her happy then he wasn’t going to stand in the way, leaving her feeling like there was no way back.
Grabbing a bottle of whiskey, Linda threatened to drink and when Mick’s only response was that he didn’t want to be the reason she relapsed, she slapped him and walked out, in tears that he didn’t even seem to want to fight and save her.
But later, as Max thought he was on the winning run, Linda admitted to her lover that she still loves her husband.
However, whether Mick feels the same is a different matter – and Max isn’t prepared to give up on a new life with Linda either.
