Coronation Street fans have been desperate for Fiz Stape (played by Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to get back together ever since he walked out of No 9 and into the arms of Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu). In recent scenes of the soap, the two have been thrust back together as they deal with Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) and her dangerous behaviour. But according to upcoming spoilers, the atmosphere between Fiz and Tyrone has shifted, is it because they realise they still love one another?
In recent scenes, Alina has been convinced her boyfriend is still pining after Fiz.
Alina and Tyrone have had a turbulent time over the last couple of months, what with having to deal with the comments from fellow residents about their relationship and age gap, to finding out Alina was pregnant with a baby boy, least of all the flat fire and then the devastation of miscarrying the baby.
Because of all this, Alina is clinging to the mechanic, but has Tyrone realised the mistake he made in leaving Fiz for Alina as his feelings for the beautician begin to dwindle?
With Hope having been questioned by the police about starting the fire, Tyrone and Fiz have had to put their differences aside and put on a united front.
But they are both petrified when they are told their daughter could face trial.
Upon returning to the Street, they spot a drunk Alina and Fiz tells him to take her home.
And back in the flat, Alina tells her boyfriend she feels forgotten about and he explains his regret for how their situation has worked out. Tyrone goes onto say how he saw himself marrying Alina and raising a family together – but what he doesn’t realise is Alina agrees to the marriage and he finds himself having accidentally proposed.
When the date of Hope’s trial arrives, Tyrone drops the bombshell on Fiz and Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) that he has proposed to Alina and his grandmother is full of scorn.
Fiz, on the other hand, feels a fool for believing it was over between them and he was putting his family first.
When they return to Weatherfield, Tyrone and Fiz sit down and mull over the day’s events and viewers will see him break down in tears as he confesses his feelings.
Fiz is taken aback by his unhappiness and comforts him.
Now trapped into a future with Alina, does Tyrone tell Fiz he misses her and them being a proper family?
Next week, Tyrone is full of guilt about that evening and what he shared, least of all his feelings for Fiz.
Scenes show them behaving extremely awkward around on another as they meet the youth justice officer.
And it is Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) who spots them in a deep discussion leaving her feeling suspicious and wary of how close they’ve become given everything.
Unsure of how much Emma overheard, Tyrone blathers an explanation that he and Fiz were discussing childcare when he gets home to Alina.
And in a big to change the topic, Tyrone presents Alina with the expensive ring she wanted.
Alina’s thrilled, but Emma is left trying to work out if he’s genuine or if the gesture is purely for her benefit or to cover up something he has done.
Could Fiz and Tyrone find themselves embroiled in an affair?
It wouldn’t be unlikely to see the two of them sneaking around No.9, reigniting the old spark they once had.
And it wouldn’t be surprising if the first person to find out was Evelyn.
Speaking about this storyline, the actor who plays Tyrone was asked whether Alina or Fiz is a better match.
He said: “Tyrone has got a lot of soul searching to do because right now, he is clearly very conflicted again.
“He was conflicted about leaving Fiz for Alina and now he is conflicted about Fiz and Fiz’s happiness is hurting Tyrone.
“Tyrone needs to stop thinking about everybody else and start thinking about himself and what he wants.
“If that is Fiz again in the future then he needs to work that out before he allows someone else to work things out for him.
“He needs to start doing things for himself,” Alan added.
Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
