Geoffrey’s domestic violence trial was live on CourtTV
Kristen said, “When I was screaming, I was trying to get away, but I couldn’t. He was too strong.” The prosecution showed the photos of the victim with two black eyes, swollen forehead from a large knot, a bloody lip, and a bruised spine. After the attack, Kristen said she was stuck in her bedroom as Geoffrey. He was sat at the edge of the bed with her phone, forbidding her to leave the room. After Geoffrey fell asleep, she ran from her home, barefoot, to a neighbor’s house, where she called the police. The neighbor testified that the two hid in the kitchen, afraid that Geoffrey would show up. The first responding officer at the scene also took the stand, recalling that night.
The Jury is in and has come to a verdict
October 7th was day 2 of Geoffrey’s trial, the prosecution and the defense made closing arguments, and then the jury was sent off for deliberation. After only an hour and 45 mins, the jury came back with their decision. A juror read their verdict to the court. He was found guilty on count one of aggravated kidnapping, count two of domestic violence, then count three of interference of an emergency call.
Geoffrey was shocked to be found guilty on all three counts. However, there was nearly a mistrial before the jury made the verdict due to the victim bringing up more alleged abuse on the stand. Still, the judge allowed it and didn’t deem it a mistrial. This means that the jury’s verdict still stands.
How many years is Geoffrey facing in prison?
Now that Geoffrey has been found guilty on all three counts: aggravated kidnapping, domestic violence, and interference of an emergency call, he is facing many years in prison. The former 90 Day Fiancé star’s sentencing hearing will be on December 3rd.
