The VERY similar looks shared by Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex

Swapping fashion tips? How Kate Middleton, 39, and Sophie Wessex, 57, share a VERY similar style – from Hicks & Brown fedoras to elegant coats

  • Duchess of Cambridge drew inspiration from the Countess of Wessex recently
  • Kate, 39, sported a £95 fedora from Hicks & Brown in a video montage last week
  • The stylish hat was reminiscent of one worn by Prince Edward’s wife in 2018

The royals appear to have been swapping fashion tips again, as the Duchess of Cambridge drew inspiration from the Countess of Wessex for her 10th wedding anniversary video montage.

Kate, 39, appeared effortlessly elegant in a trendy £299 jacket from Irish premium brand Dubarry, teamed with a £95 fedora from Hicks & Brown, for the clip, which offered fans a glimpse into the Cambridge’s home life when released last week.

The stylish hat was reminiscent of one often worn by Prince Edward’s wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who is thought to be particularly close with Kate.

Sophie, 56, has been seen wearing the Hicks & Brown’s Suffolk Fedora on several occasions, including a May 2018 outing to the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

But it’s not the first time Kate and Sophie have shared fashion tips, with royal fans often noting how similar their wardrobes appear.

Even back in 2014, the two royals appeared to be fashion twins, when in March, Sophie (pictured left) sported a cream tailored coat-dress and an elegant hat, and then Kate seemingly mimicking the look in August (pictured right)

Even back in 2014, the two royals appeared to be fashion twins, when in March, Sophie sported a cream tailored coat-dress and an elegant hat, and then Kate seemingly mimicking the look in August.

But it’s not always Sophie leading the way, with Kate offering some very on-trend inspiration for the Queen’s daughter-in-law.

When at The Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in December 2019, the Countess debuted a stunning blue long-line coat reminiscent of the designs often sported by the Duchess.

Nonetheless, in 2019, the Daily Mail’s Sebastian Shakespeare revealed Sophie had a secret hand in the Duchess’ wardrobe.

Designer Donna Ida, whose jeans Kate wears, said the Countess quietly acquires items for her royal pal.

‘My friend, a stylist, is best friends with Sophie Wessex, and Sophie buys from us,’ the designer explained. ‘She got our black Sadie jumpsuit for herself and then asked for one for Kate.

‘She said: “Kate wants one, can I get one as well?” Kate’s never been seen wearing it in public. It’s home-wear.’

Kate’s video montage, released to mark her and Prince William’s 10th wedding anniversary, was posted to the @kensingtonroyal Instagram page with an accompanying message.

Kate, 39, first sported a fedora from Hicks & Brown in January 2020, when attending a Sunday service at church in Sandringham

It read: ‘Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary. We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C’

In the short video, Kate, William, and their three children can be seen enjoying some downtime in the great outdoors.

With big smiles on their faces, the family-of-five enjoy some quality family time together, climbing the sand dunes on the beach, sitting around the campfire toasting marshmallows in the countryside and playing in the garden of their Anmer Hall residence.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose London-based filmmaker Will Warr to capture their tenth anniversary video montage.

All dressed in cosy winter clothes, the Cambridge’s can be seen recycling the same outfits they wore in their Christmas 2020 card.
