Parisian-based running label Satisfy has followed up its recent Sonic Youth collaboration by looking towards the desert. The new collection is aptly titled “American Desert,” and draws on inspiration from meditation and the so-called runner’s high.
For the “American Desert” collection, Satisfy has teamed up with photographer Jungjin Lee, who describes her work as being “primarily concerned with the unconscious, the unknown, and the invisible.” Lee’s work appears throughout the collection, with images from her Desert series appearing on a number of items.
Based on the desert influence, the collection is designed to work for runners in all conditions from the sweltering heat of the desert to the cool of the ocean. Throughout the collection — which covers bandanas, shorts, vests, tees and long-sleeves — Satisfy has incorporated natural dyes, recycled nylon and seaweed-based fabrics. Another technical feature is the use of Deltapeak, which provides both UV protection and cooling properties.
Satisfy’s “American Desert” collection is set to release via the brand’s web store on August 24.
