Rescue kitten melts everyones hearts on Reddit after man finds him in river

Who doesn't love cats?

They're adorable, fuzzy and playful, making them one of the most popular family pets.

Now one Reddit user left everyone gushing after she shared a story about how her boyfriend found a kitten in the river.

In a post two days ago, the user wrote: "Boyfriend found kitten in river… help!

"I got him some formula and wet food. He's not really eating or drinking and hasn't gone to the bathroom.

"He's sweet and playful though. How old does he look?"

In the photo, the fuzzy animal can be seen enjoying a nice nap, while a second shows him wide awake in his cage.

Reddit users rushed to the post, with it racking up over 14,500 upvotes and hundreds of comments.

One suggested: "This kitten needs to be checked by a vet asap.

"If it's not eating or drinking or eliminating, that can become very serious quickly in a cat especially a kitten."

Another added: "Make sure the damp cloth is very warm. You want to think how a mumma cat licks them."

While the original poster, u/lostinthecemetery, was appreciative of all the help, she later posted an update.

In newer photos, it shows the little furry friend with a bit more life as he puts his paw on his owner's hand.

The poster later confirmed a name for the kitten, telling fans her and her boyfriend agreed on River.

She also revealed how the cat is eating more and he's "bound to poop any moment".
