Nothing lasts forever — not even Pete Davidson’s tattoos.

The 27-year-old “SNL” star is in the process of removing all of his ink, he reportedly revealed at a Q&A last week for his 2020 film, “The King of Staten Island.”

Film critic Mike McGranaghan broke the news when he tweeted a screenshot from the event.

“Just attended a virtual Q&A with the Judd Apatow and the cast of THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND,” he wrote. “And here’s a scoop: Pete Davidson is in the process of getting all his tattoos removed!”

While some were skeptical that the star would part with his extensive collection of body, McGranaghan explained that Davidson had a reason for his decision.

“He even showed his hand, which is already done. He said it takes 3-4 hours in the makeup chair to cover them, so he figured ‘it would be easier to get them burned off,’” he replied to one fan.

The moderator of the panel confirmed Davidson’s comments to Page Six.

In a 2019 interview with “Inked” magazine, Davidson opened up about his reason for getting tattooed frequently. “It’s just a release…When [I’m] so manic and upset, sometimes that’s the only thing that will work for me,” he said.

Davidson reportedly has over 100 tattoos, including a giant unicorn, Hilary Clinton’s face, a “Game of Thrones” direwolf and multiple “Harry Potter”-themed designs.

While he occasionally inks over old tattoos, such as when he replaced a tribute to Ariana Grande with the word “cursed,” this seems to be the first time he’s going back to a completely blank canvas.

Perhaps Lorne Michaels will be pleased with the decision, as comedian John Mulaney once revealed the “SNL” creator wasn’t a fan of Pete Davidson’s growing tattoo collection.

Many Davidson devotees, however, are devastated by the news.

“Pete Davidson is apparently getting his tattoos all removed so if you see me crying tonight ..mind your own business but that is why,” tweeted one. Another chimed in, “Learning that Pete Davidson is removing ALL his tattoos might give me the same feelings a divorce would give me.”

Davidson has yet to confirm just how many tattoos have already been removed, but it seems that fans should say their goodbyes.
