The Apprentice star Karren Brady has shared a health update on fellow panellist Claude Littner after he suffered a tragic accident that left him with horrific injuries.
Karren, 52, opened up about the "terrible cycling accident" that left the businessman needing several surgeries and unable to participate in the latest season of the show.
Claude, 72, suffered the horrific accident in April while riding an electric bike that injured his right leg so badly doctors considered amputating it.
The mother-of-two told The Mirror: "We were so desperately disappointed that he wasn't there, but we were much more concerned about how he was.
"He had this terrible cycling accident which has seen him have a number of operations. The good news is that Claude is on the mend.
"He had a difficult time, but he is almost back to his best. It was impossible for him – as much as he would have loved it – to take part in the series."
The Baroness also heaped praise on Claude’s replacement for the 2022 series, Tim Campbell, who won the original series of The Apprentice back in 2005, though she admits they still “miss Claude.”
"He is such a wonderful man to work with, but of course we missed Claude," she added, detailing how she, Lord Sugar and Claude had frequently holidayed and chatted via WhatsApp when they weren't working "long hours" on the TV show.
"He kind of felt like he was there but not there," said Karren
Lord Sugar said he had been speaking to his long-time friend and business associate regularly and hoped to see him back in the boardroom "very soon".
Speaking of the awful accident, Littner, said he had been "pottering along" near his home in north London when the accident occurred.
"I suspect I hit a pothole or something like that," he said. "The next thing I knew I was lying on the ground."
An ambulance took him to the trauma unit at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington where surgeons successfully managed to save his leg.

Reposting one tweet, Claude wrote: "Relax! I am doing well and already planning my return next series of @bbcapprentice.”
