Is there a right time to get engaged?
The year 2022 has started with a handful of celebrity engagements – including Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman who will be taking the next step in their relationship after a "secret proposal in Barbados."
The celebrity couple have been together for 13 years and share an adorable son named Eric.
And marriage didn't look to be on the cards for the couple, after Simon previously stated he didn't believe in it.
From one long-term romance to a shorter one, TV presenter Maya Jama is also reportedly engaged to beau Ben Simmons after less than two years together.

The 27 year old presenter was spotted donning a "million dollar ten-carat" diamond ring after a Christmas proposal.
And considering the two very different timelines, we asked Charlotte Johnson, a relationship and sex expert at Mega Pleasure, if there's such a thing as too soon to get engaged.
"There are many factors involved when it comes to engagement, such as age, and whether or not you want marriage and children," she shared.
Continuing: "If you want to get married and/or have a family this often impacts how long you’re willing to wait for someone to pop the question. The truth of the matter is that there is no right or wrong length of time to wait to get engaged. Some couples may wait years before getting married, while others wait months.
"This all depends on your unique circumstances and it’s something that you have to decide for yourself."
Charlotte advised "going at your own pace," as every couple is different when it comes to timelines.

Discussing the recent celebrity engagements, she shared: "Simon Cowell proposed to girlfriend Lauren Silverman after 13 years together, despite having child Eric back in 2014.
"Although this is a longer length of time to wait to propose, every couple is different and you should take it at your own pace, listen to your gut and your family and friends.
"Whether you’ve been officially dating ‘the one’ for a few months or 13 years similar to Simon, you might be wondering how you’ll know when the right time to get engaged is. There is never a right time to get engaged and this can be different for each couple.
"Every couple is unique, but a reasonable amount of time to be engaged is after one to three years of the relationship. Many people may wait longer to get engaged due to financial reasons, or not feel any pressure to take this leap in the relationship. Ultimately you should propose when the time feels right."
