Inside Iker Casillas' Japanese-themed penthouse apartment where he's staying after split from wife Sara Carbonero

IKER CASILLAS has left his family home and is staying in a Japanese-style penthouse after calling it quits with wife Sara Carbonero.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper has moved out of the house he shared with the journalist and their two children Martin and Lucas in the exclusive Madrid suburb 'La Finca'.

Ex-Spain skipper Casillas, 39, confirmed the split after 12 years last month and a quickie divorce was finalised this week.

The pair went viral in 2010 after Spain won the World Cup in South Africa as Casillas kissed his partner live on air as she was attempting to interview him.

Casillas' new £1million pad is just minutes away from his old place and still in the same exclusive area, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo,

The luxury apartment is spacious and filled with natural light and boasts a stunning open plan kitchen/diner and reception space.

It has four bedrooms and an incredible SIX massive terraces with great views.

One of which has a private swimming pool and jacuzzi attached to help the retired pro relax.

The place even has a library as well as marble bathrooms featuring Japanese patterns on the wall.

The whole home is fitted to the highest standard with all the latest features and appliances.

The Spanish couple both came through well-publicised health battles while together.

Casillas retired from football in 2020 after suffering a heart attack at Porto.

His ex was operated on for ovarian cancer in 2019 before undergoing chemotherapy and had a further health scare earlier this year when she was admitted to hospital.
