Brooke Shields is back in heels.

The 56-year-old actress was able to strap on her pumps again and head out on the town after suffering a nasty broken leg during a workout session in January.

“This is the first time I’m really in heels and walking any length of time,” Shields exclusively told Page Six at the American Ballet Theatre’s Fall Gala on Tuesday night.

“So, I’m very happy to be alive and with my friend,” she continued, standing next to longtime pal Ali Wentworth, who piped up and added, “I’m happy she’s alive, too!”

Shields’ amazing recovery comes after she had feared she might be paralyzed by the exercise accident, in which she fell off a balance board and broke her femur.

The “Blue Lagoon” actress immediately underwent surgery to insert two metal rods. However, complications arose, and she was forced to undergo a second surgery, which led to a staph infection.

Fortunately, Shields is back on the mend and has even resumed going to the gym.

“I don’t like something getting the better of me,” she explained. “Especially not a silly, dumb accident. I’m definitely still in rehab. Every time I think I’m strong enough, I realize I have to go back to PT [physical therapy].”

Once again chiming in, Wentworth, 56, added that she would never return to the gym if that had happened to her, which prompted Shields to quip: “You never go to the gym anyway!”

The two friends told us they speak daily and see the friendship continuing unless, as Wentworth joked, “She sleeps with my husband [George Stephanopoulos].”

Meanwhile, Shields is returning to the small screen in a Netflix movie called “A Castle for Christmas” opposite Cary Elwes.

“I play an author who goes to Scotland. It’s a really happy, sweet rom-com,” she explained.

Liev Schreiber, Tommy Dorfman, Diane Kruger and Molly Ringwald also attended Tuesday’s glittery gala.
