The Las Vegas entertainment-loving world and show business at large suffered a loss in January 2021 with the death of “Siegfried Fischbacher, half of the world-famous Las Vegas magic and entertainment act Siegfried & Roy,” according to NBC News. Fischbacher, who was 81 years old at the time of his death, died of pancreatic cancer at his Las Vegas home. Not long before, Fischbacher had undergone “an operation to remove a tumor,” the star’s representatives explained in a statement to the New York Post. Following Fischbacher’s “[release] from the hospital,” he “was being cared for at home by two hospice workers.”
Fischbacher’s death comes just “eight months after the death of his long-term business partner, Roy Horn,” per NBC News. TMZ reported that Horn died in May 2020 at 75 years old from the coronavirus.
While Fischbacher and Horn may no longer be around, they both left a lasting mark on the entertainment industry. And because of that iconic success, Fischbacher was worth quite a bit of money when he died. Read on to find out just how much.
Siegfried Fischbacher was a very rich man
Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn — or simply Siegfried & Roy — will always be remembered as show business legends. That’s because “their career, which lasted more than 40 years,” was filled with “glittering costumes and extravagant illusions involving tigers, lions, and other animals, which made them among the most popular and highest-paid entertainers in Las Vegas,” according to The Washington Post. Their long-time onstage “act came to an abrupt end on Oct. 3, 2003, when a 400-pound white tiger locked its jaws on Horn’s neck and dragged him from the stage. Horn almost died of blood loss, had a stroke and never fully recovered.”
However, before the two decided that their days using live animals to entertain crowds in Las Vegas had come to an end, they both managed to bring in a staggering amount of money. Fischbacher apparently had $120 million at the time of his death, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Granted, the outlet also notes that this was combined with Horn’s fortune.
With that kind of money left behind, we have no doubt that the star’s animals will be taken care of, even if he’s no longer with them.
