Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan’s son Shane Jr has slammed Linda Robson after she branded his dad “annoying”.

The 31 year old, who is reportedly planning on changing his surname name to support his dad, hit back at Loose Women star Linda, 62, after she made comments about former EastEnders actor Shane.

Speaking on Loose Women on Monday, Linda shared her views on the new I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! cast after the first episode of the series aired on Sunday 15 November.

Many of the panellists said they found Shane, who recently admitted he’s “literally skint”, entertaining and hilarious.

But, Linda wasn’t shy in saying she wasn’t impressed by his antics on the debut episode.

She said: “I think there’s a couple of people that are gonna be a little bit annoying, like Shane Richie.

“I mean, he’s not a comedian but he’s just trying to be.

“He’s just being a little bit annoying, he’s been voted for the first trial so a lot of people are seeing that.”

She added: “It just takes you a little while to get used to the campmates.”

After hearing Linda’s comments, Shane Jr wasn’t impressed and took to Twitter to defend his dad.

He wrote: “Has she [Linda] really just said he’s not a comedian? Wow. She hasn’t got a clue haha,” followed by laughing emojis.

Shane has joined Giovanna Fletcher, Sir Mo Farah, Vernon Kay and a number of other celebrities in Gwrych Castle, north Wales for this year’s I’m A Celeb.

The actor shared his excitement at heading into the castle ahead of the show’s launch.

He said: “We got the call in January and I agreed to do it because it was the 20th one.

“My kids were old enough to travel to Australia and they wanted to meet Ant and Dec! We were all really excited.”

Shane added: “What an honour to be asked before lockdown. I am so grateful and I am really looking forward to being around adults again instead of my wife and three children!”

When asked how he would feel if the show opened more doors for him in the showbiz world, he said: “I do feel like I have come home.

"Everyone thinks of me as a BBC person but I am ITV. I was Mr Saturday night.

“Yeah I would love to do more entertainment shows again. If they said: ‘let’s give Shanie a show,’ wouldn't that be lovely?”
