Meghan Markle shows rare new snap of son Archie playing with his pet chickens

Meghan Markle has sat down with close pal Ellen DeGeneres for a tell-all chat on the talk show.

The British Royal Family member has been close with the host for years after they met back in 2012, and their friendship is evident in the recent interview.

The Duchess and her husband Prince Harry are known for keeping their family lives as private as possible, but the refreshing chat sees the star delve into candid moments with their children Archie and Lili.

In the interview, Meghan has offered a very rare look at her two year old son, who hasn't been pictured for months.

Now a full-blown toddler, it's been revealed that Archie is a huge fan of animals, just like his parents.

In the snap, taken by Meghan, we can see him from behind as he holds a basket and dons his colourful wellies.

Archie is visiting his chicken coop, and is seen looking at the hens as they eat off a miniature picnic table.

Just like his father, Archie looks to be a redhead, and has a full head of auburn hair.

Meghan revealed that her son adorably calls the coop his "chick inn" – aww!

Wearing some denim jeans and a blue long-sleeved top, the child has presumably headed to the coop to collect their eggs – hence the basket.

Speaking to Meghan about the moment behind the image, Ellen – who is a neighbour of Meghan and Harry's in Montecito – the host says that "he's so sweet with the chickens too".

She added that "Archie is just such a gentle soul", to which Meghan smiled and answered: "Aww, thank you."

Prince Harry has previously revealed to BBC Radio 1 that little Archie is a huge fan of the UK cartoon Peppa Pig, and it looks like his passion for the kid's show hasn't yet passed.

The tot is actually wearing some Peppa Pig-themed Hunter wellington boots in the snap.

Ellen visited the Sussexes for Halloween and also reminisced about the low-key evening they shared this year, as the children were not fussed at all by the occasion.

As Meghan explained "We wanted to do something fun for the kids, and then the kids were just not into it at all," Ellen added that Archie didn't even want to wear his dinosaur costume "not even five minutes".
