Katie Price is ’embarrassed of Mucky Mansion and wants to shed its reputation’

Katie Price's 19-room mansion – dubbed the "Mucky Mansion" – is full of bad memories for the star as it has been the target of vandals over the years and even her children Junior and Princess recently reportedly refused to live there.

But now the mum of five, 43, is determined to make her West-Sussex mansion a family home once again in her new Channel 4 show, and hopefully, transform her reputation as she moves on with her life.

A source told OK!: "Katie hates the reputation the Mucky Mansion has on her – she finds it upsetting.

"She wants to create a lovely home for her family to live in and for the public to see that side to her. She wants to transform her house, as well as her reputation."

OK! approached Katie's representative for comment.

It was previously reported Princess and Junior are said to "hate" her "Mucky Mansion" and are allegedly refusing to live at the property.

Katie Price's Mucky Mansion – which airs on January 26 – will follow Katie and her family as they renovate the 10-acre property over three episodes.

It was reported an "exorcism" was filmed in the infamous abode due to 16 year old Junior's "haunted" room, but it is not yet known whether the scenes will be shown due to their scary nature.

It's clear Katie is aiming to put the bad memories and traumatic events behind her, but a source told The Sun that she has found it upsetting hearing Junior and Princess' thoughts over their family home.

"While they were filming, Katie was upset to hear that Princess and Junior hate the house," the source said.

"Although she's also said she hates it, she really wants to turn the house around – she's re-doing all of the bedrooms to make it a proper home again."

Katie purchased her sprawling mansion back in 2014 from former Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude, but since then the property has depreciated in value.

"Katie knew it was in a bad state, but when she found out its now worth less than a million – half its original value – while filming the new show, it was a real shock," a source told The Sun.

"She's going to do everything she can to get it back.”

Katie said of her new TV series: "My house has been called the Mucky Mansion in the past, but it’s not that anymore, I’m making it a home.

"I’m getting my hands dirty and doing a lot of the work myself and, with the help of my amazing family and some brilliant friends, I’m putting the past behind me and rebuilding."

She added: "My house is a bit like my life, it’s being put back together like I’m being put back together.”
