Former EastEnders stars Rita Simons and Samantha Womack have surprised fans with a reunion on International Women’s Day.
More than three years after their characters Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell were killed off in a shocking New Year's Day twist, the pair have been spotted together in a rare snap.
Their characters' bid farewell to fans when they drowned in a hotel swimming pool at the end of 2016.
The on-screen sisters posed for a picture posted on Rita’s social media channels with their pal and fellow actress Rebecca McKinnis.
Rebecca, who plays Heidi Hansen in West End hit Dear Evan Hansen, was snapped beaming alongside the blonde bombshells.
Rita, 42, captioned the snap: “These girls,” with a red love heart.
Fans couldn’t believe their eyes and gushed over the snap.
One wrote: “Happy International Women’s Day to three beautiful strong women.”
While another said: “WOW! Love seeing the Mitchell sisters back together,” and a third gushed: “I love you all!”
Samantha recently joined a team of celebrities taking on a gruelling 100-mile expedition across the Namib Desert for Sport Relief .
After a number of setbacks the full team – Frankie Bridge, Nick Grimshaw, Karim Zeroual, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Louise Minchin, Rob Rinder and Samantha Womack – pushed themselves through the final 13 miles on bikes in temperatures above 40C – all in the name of charity.
Rita meanwhile has been on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and starring in Everybody's Talking About Jamie in the West End.
The soap favourites have form for surprising fans with reunions.
Samantha burst into tears when Rita made a shock appearance in the Loose Women studio last year.
The women’s incredible friendship has continued to flourish since their time of the BBC soap.
Samantha previously confessed: "She’s the only person in the world, when I look at her she makes me cry immediately."
And on New Year’s Eve, they got together to recreate the Mitchell sisters' death scenes exactly three years after they were killed off.
In a hilarious clip posted online, the actresses reenacted their characters' memorable last moments as Ronnie and Roxy, when they drowned in a hotel swimming pool.
A video was posted on Twitter showing the pair jokingly reenacting the death scene in a bathroom.
Fans were stunned by the controversial axing of the Mitchell sisters as they had dominated the BBC One soap opera's storylines since their arrival 10 years prior.
The characters were written out of the soap under orders from then-producer Sean O'Connor who wanted to give the sisters an "operatic ending".
Their final scenes showed an intoxicated Roxy drown in a closed swimming pool on Ronnie's wedding day.
Ronnie jumped in to save her but she drowned too after being weighted down by her wedding dress, leaving husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) heartbroken.
