Despite getting booed, the former president encourages his supporters to take credit for the vaccine because COVID-19 was going to ‘ravage the country far beyond what it is right now’ without it.
AceShowbiz –Donald Trump‘s recent confession was met with an unpleasant reaction from his supporters. Having admitted to getting COVID-19 vaccine booster months after saying he wouldn’t, the former president got booed by the crowd.
Trump made the revelation when speaking to Bill O’Reilly in Texas on Sunday, December 19. “Both the President and I are vaxxed,” the journalist first said, before asking the Republican, “Did you get the booster?”
In response, Trump simply said, “Yes.” Members of the audience then booed him. The father of Ivanka Trump then tried to quiet the boos, saying, “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t… That’s all right, it’s a very tiny group over there.”
In a longer video shared on Twitter account of “No Spin News”, Trump could be seen warning supporters that they are “playing right into their hands” by not taking credit for the vaccine. “Look, we did something that was historic, we saved tens of millions of lives worldwide. We, together, all of us, not me,” he pointed out.
The politician went on to note that the coronavirus was going to “ravage the country far beyond what it is right now” without the vaccine. He added, “Take credit for it. Take credit for it. It’s great. What we’ve done is historic. Don’t let them take it away. Don’t take it away from yourselves.”
“You are playing right into their hands when you sort of like, ‘oh, the vaccine.’ If you don’t want to take it, you shouldn’t be forced to take it. No mandates,” he emphasized. “But take credit, because we saved tens of millions of lives. Take credit. Don’t let them take that away from you.”
This arrived after Trump told Wall Street Journal that he was unlikely to get the booster shot. In the interview, which was published in September, he claimed that he felt like he was “in good shape from that standpoint” and “probably won’t” get the booster.
