Patsy Kensit, 52, started her career as a child actor at just four-years-old. Looking back at her years in the spotlight, the actress has now spoken out her time working alongside music icon David Bowie, admitting she was “crushed” after their initial meeting.
As a teenager, Patsy stared alongside him in the 1986 film Absolute Beginners.
While chatting about a time she has been the most star-struck during her career, she recalled crossing paths with the Heroes singer.
She gushed: “I was obsessed with him from 14. At 16, I made a film with him called Absolute Beginners.
“And the first day we started, he shook my he shook my hand and turned away.”
Looking back on the moment, Patsy admitted she was “crushed” as it was not the encounter she had imagined.
She continued to this week’s OK! Magazine: “I was a daft teenager, I thought he’d fall in love with me and we’d run off together.
“As filming commenced, he was incredibly friendly. One day I was sitting in make-up and he popped his head round the door and squeaked a ‘Hi’.”
Patsy has also previously spoken out on their time together on set, as she fondly remembered the time he bushed her hair while she sat in make-up.
She explained to the Independent back in 2017: “One day however I was sitting in make-up and the make-up artist had gone to the men’s room and Bowie walked in.
“He didn’t say a word, he just picked up a hairbrush and started brushing my hair.
“He probably only did about three strokes but it felt like the most erotic thing I’d ever had in my entire life.”
While Patsy gained notoriety for her role in Absolute Beginners, she had her first big break when she appeared in a Bird’s Eye advert 12 years before.

She captioned the post: “Sweet as the pod went pop @birdseyeuk #birdseyepeas.”
Commenting on the post, many of her followers spoke of how they remembered the classic advert.
One wrote: “I remember you so well x.”
Another added: “Remember this like it was yesterday xx.”
A third continued: “So cute! And this was my favourite advert as a child and it’s still a song that my children and my children’s children sing when we have a meal with peas!”
Later on in her career, Patsy went on to become known for being a part of 1989 classic Lethal Weapon 2, as well as Hanover Street (1979).
Elsewhere soap fans may remember the actress for playing the infamous Sadie King in Emmerdale between 2004 and 2006.
