Dan Walker, 44, recently disclosed that he injured his left calf during rehearsals for the BBC show while appearing on Thursday's It Takes Two.
The BBC Breakfast host is partnered with Strictly Pro Nadiya Bychkova and, although yet to achieve a perfect score, is a fan favourite.
While on the spin-off show the dancing duo mentioned how they couldn't do "much dancing" in rehearsals due to Dan's injury.
Dancer and presenter Janette Manrara was hosting the show, and when talking about the American Smooth that the pair are meant to be performing on this weekend's show, Dan said: "It's been going alright, we've had a slight issue this week. I had a bit of an injury to my left calf.
"We haven't been able to do that much dancing this week, have we?"
Nadiya added: "No, to be honest, until today, between Monday and Wednesday we had a few hours of eggshell training.
"But, how [Dan] puts himself together, I can see how much pain he's in but he's like, 'I'm fighting through, I love this dance and I really want to do it.' Today as we rehearsed for a few hours, he pulled it together!"
Despite the injury, Dan shared a series of fun images and videos on his Instagram account with Nadiya, 32, while filming the Strictly special.
On the show, Dan looked dapper in a deep purple crushed velvet blazer with a matching bow tie while Nadiya can be seen laughing and giggling in pink corset style strapless dress.
Still positive to perform this weekend injury notwithstanding, Dan captioned the post: "Love going on It Takes 2 with @nadiyabychkova but I still can't do the thing she does with her hands for photos [Crying laughing emoji]
"Thanks for having us @jmanrara
"Can't wait for the American Smooth on Saturday."
Fans thought the pair looked show ready, with one noting how busy they must both be fitting work around the show: "I don't know where you find the energy, you both look so fresh!"
"So love watching you two. Your partnership us very special and Nadia this is the happiest I have ever seen you on Strictly, love you both, good luck for Saturday night, you will be AMAZING," another fan added.
Although the pair have an extensive fan base, they have come under fire from some Strictly critics who have been asking themselves how the pair are still in the show.
Sharing an image of a newspaper headline saying "How is TV Dan still in show?" the broadcaster commented to his 240,000 followers saying: "I'm not sure but we are incredibly thankful for all the support and it's a true privilege to be a small part of the biggest show on the telly .
"I know articles like this are sourced from a few comments on social media but each week I get thousands of messages from people who love the show and are really enjoying watching @nadiyabychkova teaching me to dance.
"When I've watched Strictly in the past I have always liked seeing great dancers but also those who learn to love it and are working hard to improve every week. It's a TV show and not the world championships."
