Teens are transforming £40 Fashion Nova dresses into glam gowns for prom

PROM season is upon us and teens are getting glammed up for their red carpet events – but some are getting seriously creative with their designs.

The latest craze is for teens to buy cheap dresses from Fashion Nova and then to customise them to become full ball gowns that bring full glamour.

One talented prom-goer bought at £40 blue and white mini dress from the fashion retailer, and then added a frilly train to give it a show-stopping effect.

Meanwhile, another girl bought a dark-coloured, embellished short dress and added a voluminous fishtail-style train.

She posted the shots online and said she whipped up the eye-popping gown the night before the event.

And a fashionista ensured all eyes were on her after transforming a £55 black and white bodycon into a floor-length wonder using a few pieces of blue material.

A Twitter user proved she was the golden girl of the ball last year by buying a glittery mini dress and then sewing on a light-coloured material to the bottom to steal the show.

She captioned the photo: “This idea literally saved my whole prom experience.”

So are you inspired by the customising idea?
